"At the University of Alberta we are dedicated to achieving a more diverse, equitable, accessible and inclusive environment..." But what does that actually look like? This session is designed to describe the cultural and demographic diversity of our student population. We recognise that our students are not a one size fit all. However, there is a fundamental gap in our knowledge about what it takes for an international, Indigenous, mature, or first generation student to be a student here at the U of A - let alone a successful student. This session asks you to challenge our culture of inertia through critical analysis and assertive communication, with the support of campus resources who specialize in serving these diverse student populations.
